yup, its a seatbelt/starter interlock and was offered in 1974.

 

there's a bypass switch under the hood for mechanics to by-pass to allow for a free start without having to buckle the seatbelts.

woulda made it sooo much easier for the mafia....

so what all is involved in removing these and having the car still work? or should i just epoxy 'em down?

hey! those thingmies are on my 79 brat and they p*ss me off!!!
