1993 loyalepassenger side front brake locking up randomly

Featured Replies

So my loyale developed a weird problem. The passenger side front brake locks up some times. Not a full lock but enough to bring it to a stop. I replaced the pads and rotors thinking that was the problem but it still does it. Also I have a rubbing/grinding noise from that wheel before and after replacement and a clunking noise whenever I turn right and only when I turn right. Any help?

Sounds like a possible problem with the caliper.

Does the car have a manual transmission? I would check to make sure the hill holder cable isn't adjusted to tight.

I think ya have a wheel bearing issue going on personally just by the this statement...Also I have a rubbing/grinding noise from that wheel before and after...

Make sure calper's slider pins are lubricated.

Good luck,

Sam

Happened again on my way home last night... Was driving down the road and made a right and the brake started dragging. Enough to make it smoke.

Thanks guys. I took of my wheel and rotor/caliper and spun the axle by hand. Definitely coming from the bearings. Will be replacing them this weekend
