I think i have a rear CV joint going bad. Of course the front ones  are a  dime a dozen. Anyone have a source for the rear or a rebuilder?

The rears are no longer sold. You have to source them used and rebuild them. You can use the inner boots from the front axles.

are you saying front inner axle boots work on the rear axles? 

 

is that for EA81 or EA82?

i've rebooted two noisy vibrating front axles and they've been smooth as a whistle for years. 

its the rear of an e81(84) model. I have a clicking from the left rear one

Pull it apart, see if it looks chewed up. If not, regrease and reboot it.

Oreily auto parts sells rear axles, I just got 2 today.

The cups can be replaced with units from first gen legacy rears also.

You can pull both, repack with grease, reboot and flip them to the other side.
