Outback Tire size

Featured Replies

Hello everyone I'm wondering what is the biggest tire i can put on my 2001 outback limited i also plan on doing a lift among other things

be sure to ask over at subaruoutback.org as well.

I can't answer the question directly, but it would help folks if they knew your intended purpose/goal and how much lift. etc.

I want to lift it between 2" or 4 " but 4" lift will require more work this i know. But i want to turn my outback into my hunting rig

I run 215/65r16 on Forester 16x6.5 +48 wheels in the winter, which are a tad bigger than the stock 225/60r16s, on my stock '04 Outback VDC.

Generally speaking, a 29" tall tire is about as big as you can get with stockish offset (obviously, lower offset helps with that, but creates other issues) before you start having trouble with strut clearance. With some trimming, 29" is doable on a 2" lift.
