June 15, 20178 yr I'm looking to buy a Subi soon and I'm curious about the BRZ, WRX and the Impreza. What are some advantages and disadvantages of these vehicles? Which is better of the three? I'm sure that question depends on preference, so I'll state that I'd like the most reliable of the three, preferably automatic (I know damn-near all BRZ's are manual), overall comfort of the vehicle, and which of the three (if any) will be the most inexpensive to fix? More in particular about the Impreza, I know that they completely redesigned the 2017 ones. What are the major differences? Any and all info and advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks!
June 15, 20178 yr what have you been driving? what did you like about it? what do you want in the next car that you didn't have? without more info, my knee-jerk reactions to your post are one of 2 responses; 1. which one did you like during the test drives? 2. get the Impreza.
June 15, 20178 yr Agreed. We need a little more info on your preferences etc. But imo unless you want performance get the Impreza (if you're truly limited to those three)
June 15, 20178 yr I'd stay away from the Turbos. They take a nice to work on engine and fill it up with extra stuff you don't need to get from Point A to B. I love my 2000 Impreza OBS. It does everything I need. Just my thoughts.
June 15, 20178 yr DRIVE THEM ..... they are 3 completely different handling, feeling vehicles.Look at the room and interior layout. The WRX has a trunk, the BRZ is a hatchback, the Impreza is available either way, Hatchback ( 5 door ) used also for Crosstrek XV, and 4 door used for WRX and STI. Consider mileage and economy. BRZ and WRX require Premium fuel. These are just a few of the differences that come to mind, But my best advice,,,,,, DRIVE THEM..... Which do you feel you can afford, is roomy enough, and you would enjoy getting into every day. I still feel most accidents happen in the showroom..... people buy the wrong vehicle for what they really want or need.
June 16, 20178 yr Yeah...as stated above, your choices are actually 3 very different cars...that all happen to have the same logo. Based on your initial post, get the Impreza in whatever body style - sedan or hatch - fits your needs. - It'll have the lowest operating costs (gets the best MPG, too) - future tune-ups, oil changes, tires, etc. - Cheapest insurance - ? Caveat: Florida doesn't get a whole lot of snow, so the AWD of the WRX or Impreza doesn't do much good. RE: comparing differences in Impreza, this site has a ton of info: http://www.cars101.com and for the 2017 Impreza: http://www.cars101.com/subaru/impreza/impreza2017.html
