I'm sure it's the wheel bearing

It seems like the front wheel bearing I'm going to check which side but it seems I have shimmy in both directions when turning the wheel but it's more pronounced when turning to the left.

I assume it should not be too hard to take the hub out of the front of the '05 Legacy GT

If you live on salted roads it can be a bear.  Some use this tool to help separate the bearing assembly out of the knuckle

These can be tricky, I had one that got quiet when on the outside of the turn, opposite the normal noise pattern.

i changed mine wheel bearing last week front driver side. just removed all spindle hub , took it to near garage where people have hydraulic press. and they removed old bearing and put new in place in couple minutes. payed just couple euros .

same time check those ball joints. if they not knocking but have kinda loose feeling just change them too .
