2006 Forester Headlight - Water inside?

Featured Replies

We live in CO so it more of a leak I would think.  Beside replacing the assembly, anyone have luck with a good fix?

I tried polyseamseal on a taillight assembly - just pushed along a seam from the outside with my finger - didn't work.

can't be 'certain' I put it in the right place, just looked like the most logical entry point.

Seems like the factory assemblies last about 10 years. You can get cheap ones on ebay and put sealant on them before installation.

Some years back, I used some clear glue. I can't remember the brand or type of glue. I don't think that it matters that much. I remember that it solved my problem.

I have also had side marker lights fill up with water. I fixed that by drilling a small hole in the bottom of the lens. Any water that got into the lens unit simply drained out the bottom.
