EA81 adapter for oil pump?

Featured Replies

I have an 86 BRAT that needs a new oil pump, now I have learned that these pumps are ridiculously hard to get these days. For now I am getting an original replacement pump, however odds are I will have to replace it again at some point in time. Lots of you will probably say to just e discord ngine swap an EJ in, but I want to keep this vehicle as stock as possible. So here is the question, does anyone know if it is possible to get an adapter for these pumps? You can get an adapter to relocate the filter, so I'm wondering if there is an adapter to get this engine to accept a different, aftermarket oil pump? Thanks in advance, long live the EA engines omegle

Anything is possible.

If you’re going to go that way, I’d look into a remote mounted electric oil pump setup.

Why not just get new seals for it?   The metal parts should not wear any quicker than the rest of the engine.

The oil pump housings are brittle and I reckon most sales of new pumps were for replacement of broken ones during a seal replacement job.

The EA81 oil pumps are SO EASY to break when removing them. Be VERY careful when removing it and you can probably just reseal it. Don't use a hammer or mallet to remove it.
