August 23, 200421 yr What gives guys, You two drop a car off at Flowmaster's place and not bother to walk 2 doors down to say hi to me. What kinda crap is that
August 23, 200421 yr Or, we were two doors down and you don't bother to come out and say hi! :-p We were in a bit of a hurry, just had enough time to drop the car and chat for a couple of minutes. Had an appointment with the folks at Hood River.
August 24, 200421 yr In the time they were here we estabilished bobbing the brat AND keeping the tailgate is probably gonna be a MAJOR pain! Also, the tires are probably more like 30" (one size down from 31") The final comment was when am I gonna finish it... Its only been 13 months... its ALMOST done
August 24, 200421 yr In the time they were here we estabilished bobbing the brat AND keeping the tailgate is probably gonna be a MAJOR pain! WHAT????? I don't think so, if Mudrat can't do it, I'm sure that I can.
August 24, 200421 yr Not mine...his. You will not retain the TG without major stuctural redesign. Brat beds are not square.
August 24, 200421 yr bobbing the brat AND keeping the tailgate is probably gonna be a MAJOR pain! Nah, it's not that hard to pull off, just depends on how you bobbed it, where it was cut, and how you want the gate to function. If you want some ideas though, you can take a look this weekend, I'll have my tailgate down.
August 24, 200421 yr You will not retain the TG without major stuctural redesign. Brat beds are not square. By I live for these kind of challenges. Bring it on.
August 24, 200421 yr Hmmmm how much time would you need for a complete tail bobbing Corky? A complete day? or longer? I'm gonna look at your brat this weekend Adam and see what kind of ideas I can get. If it looks too hard, it may be worth throwing afew bucks (and my BRAT) Corky's way and seeing what he can do.
August 24, 200421 yr I don't really see a way to keep it looking natural back there and keep the tail gate? The outer skin is signifgantly wider if you take out 12 inches. It doesn't all line up anymore. http://community.webshots.com/photo/37919799/60788769eqYlqp
August 24, 200421 yr Zap, I saw how you bobbed the BRAT you had, and couldn't figure why you didn't keep the tailgate. I'm a metal fabricator, I'll bet that I can fabricate sheet metal parts that will make it look like it came from the factory that way, I'll bet that Mudrat could do it too.
August 25, 200421 yr Hey Craig, if Flow lives in Milwaukee, OR and you live in Beaverton, how could you be only two doors door from him? PS: Consider yourself biten.
August 25, 200421 yr cause there is no such place as Milwaukee, OR in WI maybe but not in OR its Milwaukie and Flow lives in Beaverton also but works here in Milwaukie
August 25, 200421 yr OH, OK, I get baja and flow mixed up (on the board only, not in person ). Thanks for the heads up on the spelling, my sister used to live in Milwaukie, OR before moving to Sisters, OR.
August 25, 200421 yr Ive got TONS of scrap metal to play with... so one question... Is the INSIDE of the bed going to line up? Thats all that matters to me. I plan to be meticulous and shorten the chrome bed rails to match up considering the inside of the bed matches up, then use the scrap to transition in the seam... hopefully... failing that a BFH and bondo could be used Yes, the thread is officially hijacked
August 26, 200421 yr Uhhh, it needs the drivers seat brackets fabbed, needs the engine installed (but first the weber installed and the engine cleaned up... need to figure out what clutch is going into it....) Its not going anywhere for at least a week
