Subarus rock!!!

Featured Replies

I just got done swapping the old struts, discs, and pads out on the ol 88 and I have to say it was a breeze!!! These cars are so easy to work on! Now its on to the D/R swap.

the only part of a subaru that never works like lego are the front control arm bushings, the bolts always seem to seize to the sleeves. Other than that it's always been smooth sailing on every subaru experience I've had. Gotta love em.

ocasionally you'll have a bad wheel bearing get stuck to a cv axle too...

i dislike the tight clearance between the fan shroud and teh fan puley nuts oof

perhaps if i had tiny crack addict arms i would be fine :)

Subaru's are great, they really covered their stuff building these cars, specialy in the newer ones, things are marked, and fit like they sould. Now, i've worked on other cars where that is anything but the case, doin my freinds brakes i find that the bolts are diffrent from one side to the other, a Torx bit on one, and a Hex bit on the other!! Guess thats a ford thing though

I guess none of yous have ever had to take off a bumper and the mounts and put it back on again. I was cursing the subaru engineers or days but then I realized how to do it.

I managed to break one of those captive nuts off trying to undo the nut instead of the bolt

it's a matter of "mix n' match", and I love it!

also appreciate common seals, bolts, fastners, and major componets :brow:

Let's not forget shifter bushings... I seem to be the only one who's had bad luck with these, but for those who don't know, royal PITA!!

When I hit a deer the first week I had my 88' the fender got pushed in, we went to a JY and the guy didnt listen to us that the bumper had to come off to take the fender off, he almost dismantled the whole front end before taking the bumper off, its a matter of simple knowledge combined with ease of parts that makes these cars great to drive and work on...
