Do you think there is a reason they call me Dr. RX? By the way, I didn't choose that name, I asked for suggestions from the boardmembers, and that is what they came up with.

RXs only came in white and black (for the last half year)

 

Actually that should read:

RX COUPES came only in white from '87.5 to '89 and Black (optional or only???) for the last half '89.

 

BUT

 

In '85 through '87 RX sedans were available in most colors and probably all colors.

Why an RX? Cuz they are worn the F out.

 

I finally got the grassroots car on the road and drove it on a trip farther than 2 miles for the first time since I came across the car in Jan of tihs year...and finally purchased the car back from pleiades after we built it for the challenge....

 

that thing is worn out! Shifter is all over the place! Road noise....squeaks...noises all over....brakes suck...so much work...the only thing thats right on it is the engine now!

That's a '70? I always thought that was the works version of the '74 GSR. This is the first time I saw the rear shot, I see the RX emblem.

Is it 4wd?

Is that a A/C compressor? Some thing just make you wonder why.

I really can't tell from the pictures if it is a 4WD, but it's got a great skip plate up front. As for the A/C, back then the Paris to Dakar was a very popular race, and if you've ever driven across the desert areas of the SW USA, you'll know why there is A/C in there, the Sahara is even hotter. As for the model year of the car, that is what was on the jpeg for a file name, I really don't know the actually year of the car.

I've never driven an RX, but I drive an xt6 everyday... so I'll just agree with archemitis on this one

To each his own...I 've driven them all but specifically sought after an RX for months, and love it. All though I actually liked the Turbo XT's (came real close to buying one before the recent RX) a bit more than the XT6's. Might just be the whole Turbo thing though..
