November 27, 200421 yr The wastegate on these VF7's are too small. I get boost creep...and WHAM, fuel cut....and im not even upping the boost on purpose. time for a deadbolt.
November 29, 200421 yr Author i didnt spend all that $ on a TWE DP just to swap turbos. im staying with stock and playing with it for a while. cliff notes: WJM has no cash.
November 29, 200421 yr so go find a bigger waste gate or one with with a adjustable arm on it the turbo on a saab 9000 has a threaded turnbuckle on it to preload the wastegate can so it can be adjusted to open at higher boost with less creep also has a bigger can i will be putting one on mine eventually <the whole can> just have to redrill the mounts on the can to bolt onto the suby stock turbo bad part is it opens at 5psi <large can more surface area on the diaphram so it has a larger heavier spring in it with a apc box or any other boost controller it will work fun up in he 10's 15"s and higher i am pretty sure you could also cut the wastegate arm on your stock one and thread both halves and add a turn buckle setup with 2 jam nuts to increase the loading point on the wastegate spring
November 29, 200421 yr thats one of the reasons I went TD04 no more boost creep. you can add an external waste gate. but you would need to modify that nice new up pipe.
