sounds like it's a XT6 spec clutch disc (material/spring wise) but with the smaller spline/hole that the 4 speed uses

yup. as far as i can tell, the ea82, and er27 discs are the same part, except the xt6 uses heavier damper springs on the hub.

so its all heavy duty xt6 stuff, with a small hole for my tranny, and a small pilot bearing. and a special TO bearing...

and even lowered Brats.(no offense but that one still makes me shudder)

hey!!! wtf?

Just kidding, no offense taken. I could actually sense your shudder when you handed me the 2nd in Gen 1 trophy at WCSS6.....

btw, it's going to be even lower next year w/5 lugs....and putting down lots of HP, I won't speculate until I have real #s

No problem Garner, I can appreciate hard work but just not my thing.

Yeah, you don't want to go there!

What about ea82?

What horsepower can an ea82 achieve from simple/cheap mods like intake & opening up the exhaust (i mean without a turbo or webber carb ect)

Ignition.... i see new engines (ej22 included) have a seperate coil per cylinder?

Does this achieve anything?

I think the key to rams high power is tuned intake and exhaust because they utilise the benifits of sonic pulses, extraction and scavanging of the pipes

We only need to know the sizes of their pipes and surely it could help us gain a little more

its worth a try

DIS is 100000000000000000000000000% better than the disty we have.

What about ea82?

I'm not familiar with N/A EA82s but I have two XT6s. XT6s are basically an EA82 x 1.5. An intake and exhaust should work well for your car. Go with intake piping that is the same diameter as your throttle body. If you have bigger diametered intake tubing, just try not to go over .5" more than your throttle body's diameter.

As for your exhaust, I'm at a lost. What is the stock exhaust piping size anyways? For some reason, I'm coming up with 1.5" as being the size you should go with [(2.25"/6)*4] since 2.25" works well with the XT6. I'm sure that's not the proper way to calculate this. Perhaps 1.75" - 2.00". I'll go with 1.75" so no low end torque is lost.

Get one of the guys (Garner) to make up a pulley for you. This way, your acceleration is increased slightly due to the lighter weight of the pulley.

It's a direct ignition system. No distributor. It's also a wasted spark system. There arent really 1 coil per spark plug but rather 2 coils; one for each side. It fires both on that side.... wasting a spark. It achieves a more efficient, simple and less maintanace ignition system. The computer controls timing so you arent servicing a dist. Either it works or it's broke essentialy. Says right in the Legacy manual if your timing is off, something is broke or wearing out.

archemitis empty your PM box.

I am pulling together parts for an EA81 to EJ swap. I saw that you swapped in an ER27 to your EA. I read that the stock ea81 flywheel, pressure plate and flywheel set up on the 4spd will have slippage issues when mounted up to a ER27 so I am sure the same will happen with an EJ22. I saw that you expiriened this and then went to a Xt-6 fly wheel and pressure plate while keeping the EA81 clutch. It was said that you used a nissan truck throw out bearing. What is the model and year of the nissan for that throw out bearing?? Please if you can send me some part numbers, and info or where to get the Nissan Truck Throw out, A XT6 Pressure Plate(if it is stock or high performance), and the clutch you got to fit the 4spd(high performance EA81 disc). I want to have all my ducks in a row when my EJ22 gets here next week

Any advice would be awesome.

Thanks

Scott
