Rooba Doo
95' Impreza, On Board Diagnostics I or II ?? How the heck do you, (if you even can), pull the codes out of the computer. I have a Chilton for Subaru 1985 through 1996 and it tells me how to test each sensor in great detail but not how to get the stinkin codes out. Please Help you guys I have a stalling problem thats driving me crazy. I am a little familair with Nissan with the blinking light on the computer itself are Subarus like that too. Or do I have to have a scan tool?? thanks in advance!!

SUBARU3
I have a late 95 Impreza 2.2 AWD L that is OBD2. Has the plug in the dash and have pulled codes. I also have a 95 Impreza 1.8 L that is OBD1. (No plug) Guess some had it and some didn't Todd

Dr. RX
My 96 Impreza doesn't have either (do to the conversion), but my 95 Legacy has OBD II. I believe all vehicles from 1996 on have OBD II, I think OBD I was on some vehicles for 1987 to 1995. On the 95 Impreza you still be able to get the codes from the CEL (ckeck engine light), there should be a plug under that dash that when connected will cause the CEL to start blinking a series of long and short flashes, these are the code numbers. For example, if there are two long flashes and three short flashes followed by a pause, that code would be 23. I still have this available on my 96 for check trouble codes.
