excessive vibration after tranny swap

Hey, I didn't read through all three pages so this may have been mentioned already. There is a stamped "0" on the flywheel and on the pressure plate. Those two marks need to be at least 120º off set from each other or you can get a vibration from there too. Later, Tim

Thanks Tim. When I swap the tranny out in May (with Torxxx's replacement) I'll make sure that they are so.

That's definitely something to check while the tranny is out. The vibration stops when the transmission stops, so I don't think that's the problem though.

Kelly, if you got some time before you take off next week, I'll meet you some place and let you take it for a drive (maybe rally it a bit). I'd value your assessment.

Triple check bolts/nuts holding drive shaft to rear diff.

 

Crawl up under there. Look at the crossmember for the tranny. There is an arrow on it; make sure its pointing forward ;)

 

Black gear oil is a bad sign :(
