April 24, 200520 yr Hi - was wondering if wheels/tires off a 2003 forester will fit my 95 legacy L? So i would be going from 185/70/14 to a 205/70/15 - is that doable? Any advice is greatly appreciated! Thanks!
April 24, 200520 yr should be fine if your lug pattern is the same... might rub in your fender wells a little.. might not.. give it a try and let us know!
April 24, 200520 yr People put the 16 inch WRX rims on Legacies all the time. I don't think you'll have any issues besides your speedometer being off.
April 24, 200520 yr You'd be going from tires 24" in diameter to 26.25", if my calculations are accurate. So your speedometer will be off by 9%, and you'll be an inch higher up. You *could* mount pimpin' 205/55R15 tires on the Forester rims to keep the speedo accurate.
April 24, 200520 yr 8.7% slow...so when it says you're going 60 MPH...you'll really be going 65.2. http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html ----Check that out.
April 24, 200520 yr I've got a set of WRX wheels with 205/55-16 on a MY95 Legacy L. No fit problems at all, there should be room for your 205/70/15.
April 24, 200520 yr Our '95 Legacy L wagon had 205/??/15s when I bought it. They did rub the wheel well trim (but only under heavy load.) I replaced them with 195/65/15.
April 24, 200520 yr They might rub a bit or touch the spring perch. My 205/55/16 WRX wheels and tires are pretty close in the back. Stock is 185/70/14. To have about the right diameter I'd need 205/50/16s
April 24, 200520 yr The WRX tire/wheel set-ups work well on the Legacy because they are not that much taller just a little wider., but they usually fit unless you have a heavy load in the bakc I am almost willing to bet that the Forester tires will rub. The wheels will be the same but the tires are too big for the wheel wells.
