May 21, 200520 yr I got some NGK BP6Es spark plugs for my subaru brumby but they are gapped at 0.9mm or 0.035433". Arenot they meant to be 0.044" and will running these plugs do anything bad?
May 21, 200520 yr .045 is where they need to be NGK plugs dont come pre gapped. Thats why its down so far.
May 21, 200520 yr Author My gregory's manual atucally calls for 0.7-0.9mm gaps which is quite a bit less than 0.044" or about 1.1mm. What will running these plugs do?
May 21, 200520 yr .045 and I'm stickin to it.... Wider the gap, longer the spark, the better the combustion

May 22, 200520 yr .045 and I'm stickin to it.... Wider the gap, longer the spark, the better the combustion you are wrong my friend....the smaller the gap is - its better: 0.7mm is the best for your car. you can open google ans search for spark plugs gap and read some articals about it....
May 23, 200520 yr I don't know how you figure it to be bad. I looked it up in google, only bad thing i read about it is if the gap is too big and the spark doesn't make it across. If you are running stock every thing, then yes keep the plugs gap at what the manual says. I bought myself a Mallory Promaster coil. I also got some bigger leads. I now run my plugs around 1.1 to 1.3, forgot exactly what it is now. bigger spark from coil can be used to your advantage. More spark = more efficient burn, and also more power as it burns the fuel better and quick.. Anyway, just my 2cents.
