July 13, 200520 yr I just found out that a parts car out at the "ole stash" just happens to be a 2wd auto XT, year unknown, BUT it has a spyder intake on it. So what are the differences between the turbo and non turbo spyders? I'm going to put this intake on my RX if its not too much hassle so then it'll be easier to finish up the plumbing for my intercooler and whatnot:) If there are things that have to be done to it to make it work, what are they? I also am getting the throttle cable as well
July 13, 200520 yr non turbo has no coolant return for turbo. Turbo does. i cant remember which has an EGR and which doesnt. I have both tho. otherwise, thats it. Mabye the injectors are different...but nothing is clear on the injectors.

July 13, 200520 yr Author The spyder intake came on only XT's, no other Subaru had them. They were on the 4 cylinder turbo and non turbo XT's from 87.5-89 I believe. They flow a lot better then the average EA82T intake which is why they're very sought after. They look like the newer EJ series intakes...

July 14, 200520 yr i got one, and it looks like the only difference is the egr valve or the lack there of, and the coolant passage for the turbo isnt on the spyder. it looks like you just need to drill it out cause it looks like its only held in my a bolt farter up the tube. probably sealed with an o ring like the tube that goed to the water pump. take it to a machine shop, they should be abel to do it for you without destroying anything.
July 14, 200520 yr OK, this is probably gunna sound like a stupid question. But, is an XT not a Leone? Is it a Subaru Vortex? XT in USA = Vortex in NZ? Need to know as want to find a spyder intake for my Leone. I think you call a Leone a Loyale, as well???
July 14, 200520 yr IIRC, it is an Halcyon or Alcyone in some contries. Might be a Vortex in your neck of the woods. 2-door coupe, wedge-shaped, pop-up front headlights.
July 15, 200520 yr Yeah the XT in the US is the same as the Vortex here The Loyale in US is like our 85-94 L series, AFAIK I dont wanna hijack, but while im here,.. is there an Aust equivilent to the GL10? Cheers Gannon
