September 12, 200520 yr i'm going to be running a rally suspention set up. But nothing's available i'v looked everywhere. DMS, Bilistien, Tein, so i was thinking of running a WRX suspention. Has anyone done this before?
September 12, 200520 yr dont think it will work, the rear is completely different and the fronts are shorter i think.
September 13, 200520 yr I'm pretty sure you can get GR2 struts for the EA82s, but that's all the better you can do as far as I know. Custom springs have been made before, as well as urethane bushings.
September 13, 200520 yr talk to will(wjm), i think he had modified suspension from something else on his car a while back.
September 17, 200520 yr hah yeah ive looked everywhere too for my 89 RX. i think i want to ggo custom setup after i do a 5 lug conversion but the question is, i want a decent setup and where would anyone make that? if they could? gr-2s cant really handle the higher spring rate for long periods. ive asked everyone haha *sorry for jackin the post this thread also*
September 17, 200520 yr take a look at the setup do it sidewayz is using... http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=43046&page=2
September 17, 200520 yr after you do the five lug swap, try looking for a kit to replace the air struts on an xt6 with legacy struts... my mechanic told me that there was such a thing..... that way you could upgrade alot, and in anyway you want to...
September 17, 200520 yr ok to help clear up a few shady areas, you can used upgraded struts in the front from a WRX but only IF you have a 5-lug conversion done. You also have to use the stock tophats in order for it to be a "bolt in" item. I am currently running '95 WRX front struts, brakes, knuckles, axles, XT6 control arms, and XT6 tie rod ends as well. In the back, I still have the stock RX coilovers, XT6 rear discs and calipers. Total cost of the upgrade so far is around $600 but I had to get some parts shipped to me from the west coast. So yes it is possible but it takes some $$$ to do it.
