  1. I had a question, mainly for Numbchux. I was wondering if it be okay If I took your info and compiled it with as many pictures of swaps I could find and fit it all into a kinda-swapFSM in PDF format? Reason is is that I am currently studying as a graphic designer and also have acrobat professional and wanted to have a project that I could perhapes put in a portfolio in the future. I would be working on this during winter break but my goal in mind would be to piece it all together in a very complete fashion that coul be easily read with tips and hints on sides of pages and all. Let me know what you think *edit* ill also be buying up some webspace for my site quite near in the future so if ur looking for a place to hold the manual and site and not worry about slow sever or downtime also give me a holler just shoot me a pm
  2. very interesting indeed. This will have to be done down the road after im done with the suspension re-tool. Anything to improve my grip against the unlimited amount of WRX, STI, and EVOs out here
  3. So what I am getting from this thread is that there will be much better traction in the front now in response to the rear? AKA lower understeer? What are the benefits specifically (no need for laymans terms:grin:)?
  4. Hello all, I am hoping to convert my suspension setup to coilover at the end of winterr break with some new KYB gr2s and a set of ground control coilver converters. Question is, im buying the parts in stages and whhen looking for 2WD gr2 fronts I cant seem to find them anywhere on the internet . Anyone have some sites I can purchase them off of and the part numbers? I will get traditional 4wd gr2s for the rear and those have not been as much trouble to find. Any help would be great *edit* i tried a search but nothing came up with keywords KYB and GR2 in the old school forum??
  5. i thrid this!! keep the exact look with black with polished lip wheels but throw in a high grade motor of some sort and make it really rocket
  6. uuuuh then that thing is going to be teh Sexors  the built ea82T sounds fun but good lord, ultimate STI power in an ultralight chassis? I want to seee and keep us updated on how soon ull bend that thing from the power
  7. i kinda like the paint scheme for some reason . makes sense since its in Europe I guess. How those front driving lights working? THey must put out a decent sunbeam overall nice and unique Brat
  8. where are you located in california? might be able to come and try to help? Im in the Sacramento area though...
  9. hmm weird, ill have to check again. when i was doing it it felt like it was on hard and bolted a number of times at differnt parts. ill have to check again though. see if anyone else might have experience with it
  10. anyone have a simple stepthrough or any hints? Ive got all the other parts of the kit off except the front part. Ive been looking at my Chiltons manual for help around the bumper but its no use. When im under the car it appears the front lip is on pretty good and I dont know really a good way in getting it off. Thus ive broken down and asked haha
  11. WOW that car is teh sexors. any idea of what clearance ur runnin on that coupe? :slobber:
  12. after changin my pants a couple of times i have the confidence to say this is amazing Suberdave, officially u are my hero for forging ahead and showing us the way. I look forward to how they handle/work as I am looking for some coilovers this winter season. By the way, what tire size are you now running (?/?/?)?
  13. im not an expert and rely mainly on my eyes but I feel that yellow light is generally eaier to see and use for lights on cars. White light may appear brighter but (to me at least) all it does is increase contrast between light areas and dark. Also silverstars and others like it in general feel like they cast alot more shadows compared to a softer "yellow" light. I think runnin some sylvania halogen xtra bulbs and a decent pair of hella driving lights is what is needed. My plan is to run 2 Hella Rallye 4000 compact halogens for driving with paired halogen xtra bulbs for the stock lights and some hella 550 Amber fogs. I just need to get the body kit first and RX grill
  14. uuuugh thats true hmm well we'll see, i still wanna try though...perhapes make a run over the local PnP to see what they have
  15. first off not sure if this should go in retrofitting or not since they did come in some models... Has anyone tried fitting older 4square lights in newer gen2+ car models with the single 2 headlights? I kinda am itching to see what they would look like on my sedan gl10 when its lowered , i think it might turn out quite nice if done right (and unique:headbang:). only pic ive seen is of the red coupe with em in an old brochure i have which is online here.
  16. im looking towards swapping in front wrx brake setup in the front and new set of oem rotors and pads for an xt6 in the rear when i hopefully:slobber: go to an ej motor. as long as suspension is setup decently and there isnt to much bias to lock up the non-abs brakes:-p im sure that or anything similar (2.5rs or anything) would be totally ample stopping power. Seriously, wrx setup would be a big-brake kit if u really think about it, there designed to stop 3200lbs cars :banana:Just like my bro with his Galant VR4, those came stock with 3000gtvr4(the beast) brakes i beleive, so they stop on a DIME
  17. thanks for the info, im thinking i will put in the subaru letter badge that I have in my avatar in that area for a nice clean looks to justify on the right while RX TURBO will be on the left, ill have to post pics when i do it on friday, have to get the car cleaned first :-p
  18. Anyone done this or on any other similarly tagged sube? ever seen one with it taken off/fell off ? Reason I ask is that I finally got in my WRX and turbo badge in and wanted to see if when I removed the single "subaru gl10" emblem on the back will there be holes? Or was it a simple adhesive like all new ones? Thanks
  19. Hey all, jus wondered if anyone could give me some helpful hints on where the vacum line is on turbo EA82s are? I tried looking in my Haynes but that thing is trashed and right now all my lines look the same to me Pics would be GREAT as all i need to do is hook up my vacum line to run to my boost gauge I just installed. Any help much appreciated.
  20. I personally think the hood scoop from the FC RX-7 Turbo 2 would be the best choice for a scoop on turbo cars. To me it feels like it blends in the most with the rest of how the 80's subarus looked like. I remembe a person on the board with one on a rally RX and it looks quite nice . Heres an image for reference. Notice how its bolted on? Wonder if those who make the hood could sell the scoop seperate
