  1. its the same, sad thing is is that the search on ebay for the setup returned nothing. It seems as though I cant find them anymore and all it does is return legit ground controls I would like to run a more decent suspension setup and i will keep my 13"s till i move on to my lug swap later on down the road, anyone have some ideas?
  2. *edit* found these on ebay and wanted to pick up a set, that is, if they can fit on stock RX struts and/or kyb gr-2s. are they or do i have the wrong thing...plus what would be a recommended pring height? since i would go for a little higher spring rate ( i would like around 210~) what would be a ratio for the front and rear? thhanks for any help *edit* Can I/should I convert RX struts to coilover with a ground control convertter setup? it sounds like it would be decent and my struts are dead yet, might as well make em but what does everyone think? Or should i jus do that to some gr2s instead? since u can get the small xt fronts . I really want the dampening abilities of the RX struts but with a higherr spring rate, i dont really care about hight right now and would only lower alittle if i wanted to...

  4. im fine with killing the gsensor idea cuz of the price haha. but the shift light would be great if it was RPM user defined. I can't wait till these are done, I totally want one rather than going and buying a ton of lame autometer gauges or way over priced bundle of electronic gauges
  5. I think it would be great if it had a shift warning led or sumthin like that also as you mentioned, that would help alot. Also would we have the option of choosing the LCD diplayed we want? I feel the inverted black with great text would be much easier to read during the night. I would be down for one of these also though, would be nice if it had a g-sensor though

I want to run some cheap coilover suspension setup on my rx for awhile but cant find the cheap coilover conversion on ebay anymore, only the skunk2 kit or the ground control kit...also, could i run the coilover kit on stock RX shocks? it sounds better than to run on GR2s...ive searched around b ut dont fiind alot of clear answers...
  9. kinda thread jack but I too was wondering what would be best for a wheel size choice, especially if I were to lower a bit past stock. would 15" or 14" be best? it feels like 15 seems still a little too big for a lowered sub...
  10. cool, thanks for the chassis code. such a random number compared to the others but i think its cool. i think its true about the statement about any engine can be made into a decent powerhouse for its size, but for a college student who has the ability to potentially get a put in a RA drivetrain, well....y not? then i can work on the other field, tuning the ultimate rx's driver's skills
  11. what is the body code for the subaru rx coupe? i have always used the coupe ea82t designation. I would love to build up an old subaru engine later on in life but i think a STI motor would not be bad for my younger years.

  13. hah how funny, he has that bumper from the RA in his garage, I was taking a peek at it. Here is a pic of a ver 4 STI RA i think that he helped setup, with 22b front end. I am lookin forward to seeing all this in person
  14. yeah i know about the gentelman's agreement. The guy had the...older version RA in his car with the DCCD tranny in it, it was too cool to be true. I believe he was putting around 2** sumthin to the wheels, which would be fine by me. The longblock my friend got was the newer version with the ballbearing turbo and intercooler and all. 28k miles on it i believe but when they pulled the motor it appears the the previous owner over in asia had redone thee heads? so they have about 3k on em i think. He seems to find quite nice stuff, had sti gold brembo brake setup that he found which had racing pads already in them. Im looking forward to seeing what hell bring back in the next few weeks, I really want to see what an older gen car would be like wich such modifications. The question is.....what would be the best match up for a tranny? haha.
  15. So yesterday I went with two of my friends to meet up with this guy who sells subaru motors and parts in SF bay. Appears my friend was going to get a Typre RA block and other friend was going to get aaaa 98 Type RA engine i believe? Well went over and met the guy and was blown away. All i can say is he was there workin on his 95ish l converted to a type RA STI right hand drive car with full sti interior. Im sorry but i ve never been so close to one. JIC suspenion that made me hit the roof on the freeway, it was beautiful haha. He wanted to demonstrate how good a deal my friend was gettin on the same if not better engine that he had himself put into his impreza so took us for a spin, it was insane. $2500 for a RA longblock? IIIIII might be interested if i can save up enough during summer and pick up an engine from him, a Type RA if he can find one in a RX ........oooo that would be nice nice nice. He is going to open up a shop soon it appears. Heading off to Asia this week to get some more engines an all and then once hes back itll begin. From haing out with him for the whole day it appears hes really into helpin out with the swap an all, and for the price i think i might jus havta dip inta the savings haha. well see well see, but to have such power in the rx, i dont htink ill be able to do otherwise after yesterday. Ill keep everyone posted once i head over there more often...
  16. Dont take my word for it but I too have also heard that the forester and such with the new 2.5 turbos are just dumbed down STI motors. That being said i still think theyd need to be built up a bit but i would think that some STI stuff should be able to fit on. Should be interesting, either way.
  17. So true about the wiring. Lately it seems people are moving onwards to the ej turbo area and Im interested. Also seems theyve been successful so it might be troublesome, but I think it would be great if someone or some people were able to do a complete write up on such a swap. I myself will have FUUUUN with wiring and the likes and it would be a massive help to do such a thing. I know its been mentioned before but I just wanted to let people know that I would love to help out if people didnt have the time to write up such a thing. Also, being a graphic designer, creating a website would not be hard and I think it would be great to set one up for such a thing, or create a pdf. Jus throwing up ideas, people pm with thoughts. Ill stop jacking the thread so I apologize. Great work on the swap, gotta take a vid when ur done, pics wouldnt justify it.
  18. Was browsing around at work and saw this car there and was....quite surprised, most being how well the hood scoop looked to me, looks stock really and I love it. Not to mention what was done to the car also, I really wanted to see if it was anyone's here and if so wanted to ask more questions. see it here
  19. so im guessing this is an ej20 from a wrx or sumthing similar going into your rx? If so I am reeeeaally interested since I want to do something similar downt he road. Plans to do it sooner got curbed after paying for school hit me. It would be great if you keep documenting your progress as you have been now. I will need all the help i can get haha. Especially wiring which you seem to have down. Keep up the good work and I can't wait to see it finished.
  20. i really want to improve my vision at night and so want to invest in some hella 550 ambers for the lower portion, but when taking a lok at my stock driving lights, i really want to replace them with a more clear reflective solution such as sylvania's or sumthin (not the silverstars but the highest yellow halogens) but I wasnt sure if there were any 3rd party headlamps? Ive only seen the 9004bulbs but i want the whole deal. can anyone fill me in? or do I have to rely on oem replacement?
  21. looks pretty nice. i say if I was to swap a 13bt motor in an 80's suby, go as light as i can go. looks like its an fc engine so it should be extremely light, get rid of the chrome and go rays or sumthing, could have after looking at how much money was put into other things and clean out the interior, ultra sleeper. but each to his own opinion, i say total props for being so dedicated and it turned out nice.

  23. well of course, the rx wont support the airbag part. how easy would it be to take out a side airbag? if anyone knows or has done? i dont want to drive around and then watch the passenger all of a sudden blast to the side, all though for some reason the way i say it sounds pretty funny. :-\
  24. hmm sounds cool then. I was just wonderin how some of the new ones have side airbags? didnt know hwo that would affect if i tried to use a passenger seat as well? If it could work, I would definitely look into it.

I was searching around here and saw some cars that had done mods to put more recent seats and and I got to thinking, I browse around alot on nasioc and stuff cuz my friendss have more recent cars and it seems alot of people pawn off their wrx seats infavour of sti interior, quite cheaply infact. How hard (if possible) would it be to swap in recent wrx seats or sumthin? The new 04 ones are pretty ggood for bucket seats and they go for dirt cheap for how much bolster support they provide. Just and idea.
