Bigger Carb for 85 brat.

Featured Replies

I have heard that if you put a larger carb on the standard 85' brat engine you can get a few more horsepower. Is this true? what else can I do without having to do an entire engine swap? What carb would you guys put on it? I appriciate any information!

Thanks,

Ryan

go with a weber, and hi-flo exhaust, and it will become some-what zippy

You could also convert to SPFI... a better swap in my opinion.

yes, the weber carb is the one you are thinking of, 32/36 most likely. anywho, i'll soon be doin a spfi swap also as soon as i can get money for the parts

you'll want a weber 32/36 and a soob adapter.

there's a sticky thread in the off-road section dedicated to the webers....

Yep, the Weber 32/36 is what you want. Toss an EA-82 carb intake on there also, and even be happier. Done that to 2 of mine sofar, really woke-up the '84 Auto, still tuning in the one on the '86. But they do run better. Sound better too when you put your foot into it........
