Oil viscosity

Featured Replies

I was wondering what viscosity oil are you guys running in your subes?

ten dubya thirty castrol gtx.... DRIVE HARD !_!

Mobil1 10w30 with a Subaru filter. Thinking about switching to the 5w40, but I'm not sure yet.

Depends on what condition the engine is in - i would stick to a 20w oil in a worn engine, while a 10 or 15w is better if your engine is in good condition (ie low miles).

From all the reading here, I've been putting 20W50 in my RX turbo. I've switched my XT6s over to this as well.

valvoline high milage 10w 40

eats about 1 1/2 quarts a month

amsoil 10-30 in 88 spfi d/r wagon 191,000mi , used 2 qt at 5500mi , use 10w 30 hi milage valvoline in 88 turbo a/t full time 4wd wagon, uses about 2qt at 4,000mi ,well leaks more than burns, thinking about using royale purple

Synthetic 5W-40 in wintertime (easy to start even below zero), 15W50 in the summertime. Burns about a quart every 1200 miles, but amazingly enough, doesn't leak yet.

1989 GL, 203k miles.

I think they only sell 5W-40 to all of you that live in really cold climates. I have never seen it here in pa.

Quite likely. It's rather hard to find here even.
