I found a GL-10 wagon that has a rear LSD. The yard wants $300 for it if I pull it. Is this a fair price or a rip off, cuz it seems pretty high for a used differential. What would be a good fair price for this?

from them, it shouldn't be more than 75, you could always swap the rear cover with a standard 3.9 ratio, although that could be stealing

i'd say thats pretty steap...

 

most go for around half that... the most i think i have ever seen one was for like 200... work him down or go find one somewhere else!

Well... it seems he knows what he has. $300 is the going rate for a LSD on ebay. Locked differentials for any car will run upwards of $200+. But from a junkyard, you pull it yourself??? $75 is the most i'd pay if I had to lay on my back and yank it myself.

what yard are you going to??? Holy crap. Sounds like the price from B&R. I'm getting one in a parts car and if it doesn't sell to someone here that might not possibly have the money, I can put you next in line for $100 and that would be for the whole diff, not just the carrier...

I can't remember the exact amounts, but i've paid between $125 and $150 for LSD units from board members.

All I know is its out of a gl-10 wagon, 87 auto... I pulled the motor.. for my XT. and it works great.. the tranny was shot. but I'm assuming it is good but for $50 what can you say?

Better make absolutly sure its a LSD. The only GL10's that should have one are 1989 GL10s with the Full Time 4WD 5spd tranny. Unless, however, someone installed the LSD into that 87 GL10 on their own.

I paid $130 from McBrat...already pulled, but I had to drive to Iowa to get it (Ok...I was already going for midwest 3...but still)

The yard here has a 4WD auto GL-10 with a 3.7 LSD on it. But they want too much for it.
