boxerhummfetish
Subarus seem to be built generally with easily interchangeable parts, but how far does this go? can I use a man transmission from a legacy model, esp the early 90s ones which can be found very cheap around here? What about 2wd transmissions, will they bolt right on and fit the fwd linkages? If so, anybody considered turning their 4wd into a hybrid: 2wd + electric motor in the rear? simbey1982
Any EJ series tranny will work..as long as the diff in the transmission is geared the same as your rear diff.....3.9 or 4.11...dont remember Cory
Shadyirishmen
DUDE, I thought about doing the same thing. Put a two wheel drive trans in the front and run an electric in the back. You could make a seriously fast car if its done right!!!
ballitch
especially since electric motors make 100% of their torque in an instant, trouble would be gettin enough power to it. might make car too heavy with all those batteries. i dont know though. ~Josh~
subeman90
someone did this to a 4wd justy and used the push button on the shifter to engage the e-motor. Said it was faster in the 1/4 mile with the e-motor on etc.
