How much lift?

Featured Replies

I am coming to the realization that I need bigger tires. How big can I go without a lift kit? I can do the work myself if and when it comes to the lift.

I want to put some bigger more aggressive tires on the car for when the weather gets bad. I might even just keep them as spares for when I need them and not on the car all the time. I don't want LARGE off road mudders, I just want more tire than 13", and more aggressive tread than standard light vehicle tread. I can't wait to see what is written.

First check out a couple companies that make lifts.Depending on what model subaru you have then you can decide how much you want to lift it.I would say most people are happy with a 4" lift. The 2 companies that should be looked at are: Ozified or AA(Allied Armament).I would recomend going with either 14" or 15" pugs with the 28" superswampers.

If you can't wait  search the "Off Road" forum, who'd of thunk?

Near the top there is a sticky that covers everything from bumpers to wheels, lifts and tires, and everything in between.

With a sawzall, you can go as big as you want. Or better yet, take all of the fenders off and the sky is the limit.

I know someone who's running 14 inch Mazda rims with 205/75R14s with no rubbing.

Hmm, must get more torque for the bigger tires.

Not necessarily, but who said it had to move, or move quickly?

I was just looking at tires and found these I'd like for my own Soob. I wouldn't mind having the wheels, too.

No point in having huge tires if i can't climb the mountian behind Zap and Ken

if you dont want to lift it right away, get some 14 inch pugs, and since it is winter, might as well get some studless winter tires..195/70/14 would be a great increase over stock tire size..those would measure at 24.7 as the stockers are 23.2. so a little bit taller.. but those would fit with out any fender rubbing issues. now, if you do decide to get a lift, i wouldnt go any larger than 29 inch tires, other wise it would mess with your gearing to much...

True, but not many can keep up with them regardless of what they have.
