January 25, 200620 yr Google search, there are TONS of LSDs avalible, not so many lockers, in fact I don't think anyone makes a locker.
January 25, 200620 yr I beleive there are probably even stock LSD's that'll bolt right up with zero modification.....
January 25, 200620 yr Author Well it's an automatic, and I'm thinking of adding it to the rear diff. I will google it. rd ps - This came about after spinning the left front and right rear in the mud. Almost got stuck in my driveway!! It was a wierd angle and in reverse though, and me not being on the outside of the car when it happened to see exactly what occurred with the wheel spin. I tapped the brake and felt some kind of traction surge. Not sure what really went on here, but lifted the rear of the car afterwards and spun the right rear wheel. The left one didn't spin (open diff).
January 25, 200620 yr quite honestly, I'd find a local subaru club, there you might be able to find a used one, or a place to find a used one, aswell as help installing it. I'd go to the MNSubaru club (mostly WRX tuners....but they know their stuff), but that won't help you much

The left one didn't spin (open diff). For LSD's you can use any other subaru rear diff. If it has the same rear final drive ratio, I think yours is 4.11 but I'm not certain, and it just bolts up... But other LSD rear's from other Imprezas/Legacy's/Foresters with different ratios can be used by using the ring and pinion from your diff. The front wheel spinning is the same thing i've noticed since all new subaru AWD systems other than the STI don't have front LSD's... You have to go aftermarket for that.
January 25, 200620 yr Take a 3.70 clutch type LSD from any fulltime 4wd ea82 turbo, swap the lsd into your proper ring and pinion set, then use '89-'94 legacy rear axles to mate to the lsd's stubbs and away you go. will need 1/4" drive deep e-10 torx to pull the stubbs...
January 26, 200620 yr Author I guess the question that I now have is this: which models had or have LSD rears as standard equipment. Does ANDYJO'S Imp have it? Please be patient with the slow kid. rd

Please be patient with the slow kid. rd I don't remember if andy installed a LSD in his or not... But that model of Impreza does not come with one stock. None of the L's came with LSD's, not sure about the OBS's. The 98-01 RS has LSD's stock. High-end foresters had them stock too I think, and alot of Outbacks and Legacys too but not usually base models, the Legacy GT's (recent and older models) do.
