My ea81 has no exhaust and when you rev that to around 6 grand it wakes up the whole neighborhood. Not many things that sound better than a high revved boxer rumble.

But the same car will be nearly silent at idle.:Flame:

Okay so i have an ea81 brat with a weber carb..and when ever i let the engine rev to about 3500 to 4000 rpms while im driving then stop shut the engine off it diesels almost every time but when i shift around 2500 to 3000 rpms it rarly diesels....any ideas as to why it's doing that?

Dieseling is due to Two Facts:

  1. Weber Carbs doesn't have the Fuel Cutting Solenoid, so when you Shut the car off, fuel is Still flowing in the Carb, feeding the Cylinders.

  2. The Cylinders must have Hot Spots on their Combustion Chambers, so they substitute the Spakplugs and ignite the Fuel / air Mixture.

So to avoid Dieseling, you might do one or both Solutions:

  1. Clean the Engine internals to remove too much carbon deposits, that turns into Hot Spots. This could be Done using Seafoam or other similar products.

  2. Install the Fuel Cutting Solenoid on the Weber Carb.

Kind Regards.

I do

+1 I find if you drive as if you were ANGRY, the car drives better...

My cars don't make it home when I drive with anger.
