Or ya could just buy brand new rims - my 15" white wagon wheels were $27 each from Tire Factory.... I would imagine they can get 14's too. New rims hold the bead better and almost never leak - very smooth bead surface and powder coated too. Plus they look.... well... new.

Thats cheaper than what I paid for my rims... and mine were 20yrs old. But, they arent generic 8 spoke rims. I cant stand those things

junkyard.I picked up 4 chevy 6 lugs 15X7 for $100.they are nice chrome ones.I think they have speedholes or something,but there not spokes...

the rims i scored were of a d-50 pick-up before it headed to the jy.the brand of rim is American racing or AR. at my local yard these rims run $10 a piece, why so cheap you ask well a ton of trucks ran on these rims and there seems to be a ample supply of them. if you go looking for a set in a jy look for white rims with a thin blue and red stripe on the outer edge. cleaned them up and shot some paint and BLAM sweet rims!!!

I was at a friend's house last night and we were talking about the trailer he built out of an old Nissan p/u frame. I looked down and Behold! he had a set of outlaw 2s on it. I think they are 15" rims and 6 lug. What I don't know is how wide they are, I am assuming they are 7" after checking out the summit page. Anyway, he said I could get all 4 for $75 or if I could find a set of steely rims, he would trade for them. This is great and definately gets a...... and a.....

I don't know if tou guys have somthing like recycling centers in the states but in Austraila there is. you can get there almost anything for almost nothing. that's where I found my 14" rims and I paid AU$22 for the lot. (about us$16). http://subaruesh.spaces.msn.com/photos

I don't think we have any recycling centers around here that would have rims laying around.... I'd say the closest thing to that would be the junk yards.

what happens if you drilled your rims then countersunk them at 82*? instead of 60* will it still seat or....?

I used 15" rims from a early 90'2 Toyota Tacoma. I got a set of 5 for $75 from a junk yard. Don't look for the truck, look for the rims. I found mine in a pile of rims. Alot of people with 'yotas get aluminum rims and scrap the steelies. Very common and cheap.

 

I chose to drill the rims and not the hubs because the 'yota rims are thicker than the Subaru hubs. A little margin of safety IMO. Also, if the drilling weakens the part and it fails, I'd rather change a busted rim than a busted hub. Odds are neither will break under "normal" use, but I'm crazy like that.

 

Consider too that 15 inch rims give you a far bigger choice in off-road tires than 14s.
