'94 SVX - Any advice?

Featured Replies

I am looking at a 94 SVX L with 99K miles on it. It looks to be in pretty good shape. I know about the usual transmission problems and wheel bearings as well as the potential problems with brake rotors warping. Is there anything else I should be looking at while I am at it?

What would a fair price be for this car in good shape? There is no rust or dents. See attached picture, and let me know what you think.

Thanks.

You're looking at that one on e-bay, huh? I saw it and you're right, it does look sweet. It'll look good in Kodiak, but how many brown bears, elk and deer will fit in the back?

Be aware that the 94 L models are all FWD. Aside from the transmission and wheel bearings, just give the car an overall check to look for signs that it's been maintained properly. (no fluid leaks, proper fluid levels, clean fluids). SVX's can be fantastic cars if properly cared for.

If you do get the car, follow the maintenece schedule!! :)

I have the Nissan pickup for hauling animal carcasses around! :-)

Yeah, I know it FWD, but SVX's are hard to come buy in AK. This one is down in Juneau, but would be easier to ship than from down in the "lower 48". :burnout:

I originally found this car at http://bidalaska.com/item.asp?intItemID=1875

Then when you mentioned e-bay I went there and found the same car at http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2441920338&category=31871

The one at BidAlaska says it's in Juneau AK, the one on eBay says it's in Alsip IL. It's stuff like that the really gets to me! :madder: :madder:

I'm glad I didn't get too involved in this thing! Guess I'll just keep looking. :brolleye:

Well, I can go to bed and sleep well tonight having learned something new today. I never knew that there was a SVX model that was FWD, I thought that they were all AWD.

There's a blue SVX down at AAA-1 Subaru. I don't know if it's for sale or not, though.

I don't suppose you have their number handy do you? I don't have a copy of the Anchorage phone book handy!
