EA-82, 88 vrs EA-82, 89

Featured Replies

I have a EA-82 in my 1988 DL, Wagon, Single Point Fuel Injecting (SPFI),

If I pull the complete Intake Manifold with the SPFI header, body etc... from a EA-82, 1989, dl 4-door/auto Trany, 2-wheel drive...

Will the maniforl and SPFI work on my 1988 wagon? ...Everything looks the same? or is the computer set up different etc..

Same, yes.

......Excellent......Smithers.... Excellent...

They did switch to a different shape wiring harness plug for the SPFI engines sometime between 1988 and 1991 I know -- not sure if the '89 is the same as the 88 or the later ones. If you splice the same colored wires, the computer is apparently the same though.

I've got a '92 SPFI engine, intake, and engine harness in my '88, with stock body harness. plug 'n play.

I know they switched stuff like wire color and connector design around a few times over the years, but 88 and 89 should be essentially the same.

As far as the 92 vs 88, maybe they changed back later on?
