I have to pull the outer tierod out and I am wondering if anyone has any tricks? GeneralDisorder Posted November 7, 2006 Share Posted November 7, 2006 I thread the nut on so that it protects the threads (just even with the top of the bolt threads), and then smack it with a copper hammer (I don't like brass except for drifts as it will shatter). This gives a nice dead blow, the copper deforms instead of the threads, and the added surface area of the nut and the bolt top keeps it from getting bunged up. idosubaru Posted November 7, 2006 Share Posted November 7, 2006 an option....steering racks are a dime a dozen as well, might want to play with a used one and install new tie rods and then install it to the car (easier to work on and less down time). or just install a new steering rack, they're easy and cheap.
