87 sube 4x4 5spd d/r carb. it was bought with blown head gasket, pass side ,replaced then started her up still lots of water vaper from tail pipe, and from drivers side between trans and eng.No water in the oil, runs fairly well. another blown head gasket? cracked head? best guess would be great what to look for. thanks JDT:mad:

Leaking intake manifold gaskets perhaps. Did you use OEM ones with no sealant?

And yeah, it often takes a while to burn off all the water that made it into the exhaust and stuff.

If Water Vapor Doesn´t Goes, maybe a Cracked Head... Or just a li´l fissure... if so, maybe you can fix it at a Good Welding Shop, but I suggest you to use the Engine for a While, maybe Vapors go...

Good Luck! :)

My first Subaru was an '84 wagon with blown headgaskets. The previous owner was told the engine was no good. I assumed their mechanic knew what he was talking about and replaced the motor. It blew smoke for 2 days of intermittent running until it started to clear up.

Might be an intake gasket or the other side is also bad. I try to do both headgaskets when one goes bad.
