December 6, 200619 yr my ea82 spfi idiles at 800ish and revves itself up to 1200-1400 and drops back down and revves itself again. not the normal idle for a cold start. could the be a bad purge or egr solonoid?those are the only two things that i know are bad on my car. and my netural switch
December 7, 200619 yr I don't think it is those solenoids. That problem almost sounds familiar, but I can't remember the cause / solution right now...
December 7, 200619 yr Almost sounds like a dirty MAF but I thought we cleaned that. :-\ Might need to clean the IAC too or adjust it. GD
December 7, 200619 yr 99% sure it's the IAC acting up. I recently got rid of bad hesitation and bogging right after start up by cleaning/lubricating it. Search for "IAC " (with the space and quotes), should find plenty of info on it. -Dave
