2 green electrical plugs

Featured Replies

i was looking under the steering wheel under the dash and noticed two green electrical plugs that weren't plugged into each other.

i didn't want to plug them together in fear that the airbag might deploy.

anyone know what they might be and know if i can and should plug them together

thanks

I think the entire airbag system uses yellow wiring.

They're diagnostic connectors; don't connect them unless you're "looking for trouble", so to speak. :)

well thats good to know i will leave them be?

i was just under there trying to figure out why my keyless entry won't go in program mode. i have tried everything i can think of and have done the directions to a t? any ideas? someone disable it maybe who had the car before me?

Green connectors are the diagnostic codes

Yellow harness is airbag (can we say POOF)

DO a search here to see if there is any more info.

OK, I am a dip************. I thought that this was my airbag problem on my 98 Forester and connected them. Now I have the clock above the RV mirror and the information display (temp, barometer, compass and emergency flashers )

turn on for 30 flashes. Then they turn off and repeat the cycle.

Does anybody know how to make this stop?

I have a ODBII scanner and have tried everything to get it to clear.

I had the battery unplugged for about two hours also.

Help?

absolutely.

I think I found my answer in link 53433. It sounds like the keyless entry got confused and that I need to:

Open the drivers door, turn ignition to on, press and *hold programming button*under dashboard. After 15 seconds the doors will cycle 3 times. Do not relase the programming button. Press lock button on remote if you have one. Locks will cycle 1 time. Exit programming mode by realsing button under dash and turn key to off. This button must be pressed if you are programming remotes or if the battery was disconnected and the lights were already flashing.

That was my fix. Note to self, don't plug in stuff if you don't know what they do.

Also, my button to reset was not in a recessed ring, it was just a small black button at the end of some wiring up in the left kick panel area.
