I finally got my Legacy wagon back after more than 3 months at AAMCO and I am looking for tires/wheels for the spring. I am going to purchase winter tires to fit on the 14" OEM wheels, but I am going to go with either 16" or 17" wheels with the appropriate sized tires to keep within factory spec for the summer. I would like to hear from those of you that have seen Legacy wagons with 16" and 17" wheels and which size you thought looked better. I have been viewing them on TireRack.com at the 2 different sizes, but it doesn't come across as well as I would like it to. I am partial to the 3rd wheel in the following link:

Any thoughts you have would be appreciated, thanks!

looks kind of like 06+ WRX wheels. You could get a used set for around $400 without tires and be sure you have the right offset and center bore.

I replaced the 14" wheels on my 94 GT wagon

first with MY00 2.5 RS 16" wheels

Now with the winter tires

MY98 Forester S 16" wheels

Both have 205 55 R16's

I won't be purchasing the wheels/tires for at least a few weeks, but once I do get them on the vehicle I'll be posting pics. I think I will be going with the 17". I sure like the looks of the wagons that are a few years newer than mine, but I'll be keeping mine for a couple of years or until another major repair pops up.

I suspect the curiosity being expressed is not so much about wheels and tires but concerning your original statement "I finally got my Legacy wagon back after more than 3 months at AAMCO". :)

yes things like, was there a swat team involved, did anyone had to make bail, did it make the local news, and the ever popular how many firetrucks showed up.
