XT6/EA82 interchangability?

Recommended Posts

was just wondering... is there a thread with xt6 parts that could be used on an ea82 car... like for example, seats, five lug swap, so on...

just curious because im parting out my 6 and i might try to fit stuff to my GL... if it'll fit :lol:

For the 5 lug swap you need for the front;

The lower control arms and hubs/rotors/struts.

For the rear just grab the complete trailing arm/hub/rotor because you will want to add the sway bar.

The seats will need to have the brackets modified to fit.

And I think thats it.

many things are close, and can be made to work with a little work. and most of them are an upgrade.

The XT6 seats are a bit of a pain to make work....but IMHO....100% worth the effort!! I love those seats.

isn't your coupe 2wd. You can convert it to fulltime 4wd w/the XT6 tranny.

BTW I would be interested in your engine :grin:

lastly are you coming this weekend?

tha alternator is a 90 amp unit as opposed to the EA82s 60 amp... but the different style belt/pulley keeps it from quite being "plug and play." Easily remedied if you have any "alternator" or "auto electric" shops left in your area.. but sadly, the craft of rebuilding starters and alternators has fallen out of popularity.. thanks China!!

another option for the pulley set up is time spent in a junkyard with some large wrneches, tearing apart other alternators, installing pulleys/spacers, and test fitting into an EA82 car in the boneyard..... just make sure they see you walk in with your alternator!
