edrach
I got a tip today from another Subaru enthusiast. He saw my headlights and got a bottle of Meguier's Plast-X (I'm sure I murphed the spelling but it's available at Shuck's and other auto parts stores) out of his wagon and within 5 minutes we had polished both headlamps and side markers to "like new" shine. It sure beats a polishing wheel and 15 minutes per headlamp.
86BRATMAN
This works pretty well, but you've gotta repeat within a month usually to keep the clearness and shine.
dmanaenk
Clearcoat them, or you'll have to repeat the procedure often.
Sonicfrog
Ooooh! I'm rebuilding "Red" the $300 94 Legacy Alpine, and I was going to post on the same issue with the headlight lenses.
Reveeen
Strangely enough, "Brasso" works too, just have to repeat monthly.
dmanaenk
Once the old clearcoating is off any mild plastic polish will work, with short-lived results.
montana105
As mentioned before you have to clear coat them for any kind of lasting results, did mine two years ago with a kit from Permatex(6.00) and a can of clear from Wally world for a buck, they still look good and the clear that i oversprayed on the car paint didn't even show.Did a friends Voyager with Meguires and looks just as good as the kit results, gonna do my Jeep this weekend with Meguires and the left over clear.
