EA82/EA81 Intake thought/Idea

Featured Replies

It's been said that the EA82 intake would fit an EA81 car right? If so, that would mean that the EA81 would fit the EA82 then. Sooo, I was thinking, Maybe I should put my dual carbs on my EA82T. What do you think? Do you think this would be better than the spider intake? It would definately be the first. (Unless the guys down under have done it) Give me your thoughts/ideas about this. Boz

Naw, no good, I think U should just give it to me for the EA81 I'm gona put together;)

:-p :-p

In all honesty I think it sounds like a great idea, might be a little tricky to set up right. But it would kick A$$ :headbang:

Who made the dual carb intakes for these Subs anyway??

i had an ea81 carter/weber intake on my spfi block in my turbo wagon. , but i had to eliminate the egr for it to fit.

with that setup, i had to mahe a dent in the ps reservoir for this little solenoid...

hitachis fit, too. as far as being the right width, and the ports match, it will fit perfectly

if the intake is from an old school ea71, it will be too narrow. but if it goes to an ea81, then for sure it will fit on an ea82

ok first question why carb a turbo motor? And B why why why a turbo motor

and to give you some advise the turbo motors heads are different than the carbed/spfi heads they are "dual port" instead of "single port" sorry my vw past has came back to haunt me LOL so..... just put the spider intake on so you still have the fuel injection and better performance especialy if you put a WRX intercooler on it :drunk::banana:

i'm gonna go with the good idea bad idea, great idea for a carby or N/A motor, very bad idea for turbo motor, that would be one awesome EA-82 if'n you got some torque cams or somthing like that.

isn't the dual carb ea81 manifold single runner and the ea82 turbo (MPFI)dual runners? I know carb and SPFI manifolds are interchangable between ea81 and ea82..

my guess is you could put the dual carb manifold on a carb or SPFI ea82..

yeah, spfi would be th best choice, having the highest compression ratio.

i missed that about the ea82t, no it wont work on dual prts. the only thing that fits on dual ports is the turbo intake and the xt spider intake(mpfi)

Well, I just ran downstairs to take a looksy to be sure. My turbo motor is carbed however, It has two "runners". Damn, I wonder if I could duplicate this manifold and install two for dual cabs each with it's own "runner" otherwise, find an spare intake manifold like mine and fab something up so I could use 2 carbs. (Dual webers??)

So, since this is a carbed motor, I guess I really can't use the spider intake afterall, huh?

If I remember I will compare my DC manifold to the one on there and see what is possible.

BTW, My dual carb manifold is for an EA81 for whoever was wondering, Sorry I forgot to mention that.

Thanks for the great imput, Boz
