new axle help

Featured Replies

i can't for the life of me recall the name of the CO. that people order their new (NOT REMAN) EA81 axles from. got an '84 wagon and i'm sick of replacing remans every year. if they last that long.

I wouldn't have forgotten it, if you hadn't.. but their website is linked to off of the CCR website.. if we are thinking about the same people.

You're right on track daeron. I've heard nothign but good things about them

MWE Axles sounds like the company Daeron is talking about. They are remaned, not new, but they are top of the line. Might as well be new by the time MWE is done with them.

The other company thrown around is GCK. New axles, and seem to be good quality too.

(Me, I just pull axles from junkyards  )

GCK all the way for me. I own 4 of them and nary a problem to be found. Lifetime warrantee through any Autozone or affiliates too.

Once you see one in person you'll understand why they are more than just new axles - they are *NEW* axles - redesigned using modern components and they carry an "off road approved" rating. Beefy..... very beefy.

coolcoolcool.... those were what i was thinking of. do you get them thru Autozone or is the warranty thru them? do i need to order online? gotta do brakes anyway, one of my axles is shot, again, so i'm going to replace w/NEW and do brakes, and swap to rear disc. so i figure do it all at once.

confession time.. I couldnt get the letters straight, or I wouldve said the same thing as GD.

Order the GCK front axles, (no rear axles), right thru AutoZone, part number 8002 for the EA-81 vehicles. $99.xx + tax each, no core charge...

Actually, most of the parts in Marshall's axles ARE new.

New is great, but the GCK's are not only new, but also redesigned using more modern manufacturing techniques. I'm sure Marshall does a great job, but he still has to work within the bounderies of the off-the-shelf parts he can use to build his axles. Also his prices are higher when you include shipping, and although I'm sure he's fast, he certainly isn't Autozone - he's not down the street from me, and open 9am to 9pm 7 days a week.....
