HELLO! Ok im thinking about purchasing this car within the next hour. i just went to go see it.

The car is 4WD Dual Range. (Keep in mind i dont have a place to store transmissions. just not right now anywho contiuning...) non LSD. 196,000 miles no back bumper missing a radiator fan, CARB (not FI), she said it ran fine before... this is literally how it was left, NO battery (i dont have extras, i'd have to purchase one) and its got spiders and stuff...

 

I got her to $75 and thought i'd ask another opinion.....

 

here i am. Why do i need this car? it would be a pizza delivery vehicle for me... so i didnt tear up my other two lovlies....

 

So! i told her i would call her by 2:00 pst. thats in 0:37 minutes.\

pull a batt. from one of your other cars and see if it will fire up. i'm suspecting timing belt myself.

Buy it. With scrap metal prices where they are at, I'm sure a scrap yard would give $100 for it. Hard to lose any money if you can't get it running.

For $75 what have you really got to lose?

i decided against it, since for the same price as i would put into getting it running, i coul buy a running pos car...

Single fan is stock for this model. Dollars to doughnuts the only problem with this car was a broken timing belt. Easy to ascertain by just cranking the engine and watching the rotor button.

Hundred bucks dude, just get it.

Naw dude. You made the right decision. A $75 subaru like that only starts at $75. Then by the time you work on it enough to get it to pass smog youve wasted $500 and weeks of your time.

 

Just use the leggy or the EA82T you got.

CRAP am I too late???

hey, yeah i think so... the car is still available.... i was only in town for the day, and went to go look at it.... i told myself the two things i didnt want was

 

1) ciggeratte smell inside... cant stand it...

 

and

 

2) carberator.. just cuz ive never delt with the carb.. and if the car doesnt start, for me to start to diagnose the carb would be bad badness....

 

i'm still bouncing back and forth. the car needed a battery (none with the car) and all the feeds had been paid... but it hadnt been smogged... so... who knows what the CAT looked like or the such...

 

I think i made the right decision, and like what was previously said... for 100 bucks i'd put another 300 into it... and then i'd have a 400 dollar car that i could have bought for 400 bucks..... thanks to everyone for this i know my posts go a little crazy...
