Featured Replies

i know a good plug should be kinda brownish, but these plugs are more of a red. these came out of my EJ20G swaped wagon... they have about 5K on them, what do you think?

thats kinda normal for plugs when you run additives or gas with extra stuff added in. i run chevron gas which has techron. most gas companies add cleaners and such to their fuels. thats most likely all the problem is on that.

might need to clean the injectors, maybe run a can of seafoam through the gas. might help even things out a bit. couldnt hurt though.

Any time I have to "read" spark plugs, I have to go hunting on the net for the image from the back page of a hayne's manual.... that page is one of the single most useful printed pages in automotive history.

I think that Might be due to the Additive´s Chemical Propierties / Added Colours \ Plus Engine operatin´ Temps. Beside the Colour, I see that Plug so Normal, but Red.

Could you Post a Pic of That Here?

Thanx!!! :burnout:

I don't know how many times I have stopped and just starred at that page while flipping through it.

Yah, right?!?? Personally, I will never forget the first day I saw a Haynes book where they actually put it on the inside back cover, and printed it in COLOR.. Until then, the page always made me think, "Gee, how useless is a black and white photo in that situation?"

but i STILL CAN'T GET THEM ALL SET IN MY MIND!!!!! without the page, I only have vague notions, and (more frustratingly) utterly zero confidence in my own judgment.

You and me both. I always keep that book open when changing the plugs out. I'm clueless without it.

WHERE DID YOU FIND THAT IN COLOR????? I have always hated that page in haynes manuals because I could never truly see the color it was always Blacka and white (oh so thats what the description is for oh...)
