To the best of my knowledge, yes. Gen 1 brats came with 1800s in 1981 in the States.

yes but you will also need an Ea81 tranny. the gen one tranny's didnt match up with the gen 2 (unless it is an Ea81 '81 brat with d/r.

A ea81 dual carby motor I hope! Oh man that little car of yours would be a hoot with that engine! I think a ea81 dually with a ea81 front wheel drive 5speed would be super. Let us know what you come up with!

Put an EJ22 in it - they are narrower than the EA82 and I know at least a couple Gen 1 EA82 conversions (with frame rail trim). That little thing would haul with 130 HP AWD.

well ive got an ea71 motor in it and ive only got 40mm gap on each side

so its depends how much wider is the engine is and i dont want 2 cut in to the body

i got an later model about 1988 omega ea71 5 speed gearbox. that should fit on 2 an ea81 motor?

im actually thinking of using an webber in stead of twin carbs
