Was The 1.8 Ever.......

Featured Replies

Just to double check myself.......does anyone know if they offered a 1.8 Liter in the 1996 Legacy LS?

Not in the US.

The EJ18 was a brighton thing - mostly Impreza's..... maybe a few legacies although I've never seen one - would be a pretty underpowered legacy I would think - especially at higher altitudes.

i have seen them advertised with an EJ18 before, so i am guessing you saw one like that as well? i always wondered if that was a typo, swap or something else. as a matter of fact i saw one relatively recently, probably the same one you're asking about since you're not that far away.

There was a member on here that had a Legacy who's engine had been replaced with an EJ18...

He didn't really notice except that it got exceptionally good gas mileage.
