rear disc backing plate

Featured Replies

i just picked up a rear disc set up off of a 88 gl10 turbo 4x4 sw and the backing plates were rotten. can i use the backing plates off of a 2wd xt6

hey miles. you might add that the "modification" necessary to the 2WD backing plate is simply an enlargement of the center.. not hard to do; i know as Skeet's 4WD wagon has 2WD backing plates on it thanks to yours truly.

I'm liking your tech writeups more and more; "someone had to do it!"

My 5 lug converted RX is sporting 2wd xt6 backing plates in the rear. You have to make the center hole bigger by just about a 1/4 inch all the way around.

the job is made much easier by that middle part being made of aluminum!
