3EA Tranny

OK, going into town today and the Brat quit. The tranny has no gears. It just sits and does nothing. The only thing that works is Park. I really don't want to mess with it right now but, does anyone have any ideas? I plan to put a 4SP manual into it anyway, just wasn't ready to do it now. Please help. Any ideas or a manual D/R tranny would be good.

P.S. All fluids are good, checked them before I left the house. New vacuum modulator.

cd thats a bummer

(just a tip it's a "3AT" not 3EA)

incase you go searching

the search needs four letters,

use the wild card *

i.e. 3AT*

First guess is low fluid level.

You said you checked it but..

It is very hard to check these tranny's fluid level.

I'd check it again warm, running in park.

Some Lucas tranny honey may help

Tim he says

"The only thing that works is Park."

If the axle striped it's splines would it still

lock the front end?

I thought not.

I think we had a post recently where

the CV broke and the car, while in park

drifted out of the parking spot?

Would be worth a try though.

I'm not going to state the obvcious, but lets anyway

Does it have fluid?

Does it work in any of the manual selections

did it give any wanring signs?

is the fluid burnt?

What happens when you power brake the brat, does the tach needle stop, or does it act like its in neutral.

I agree with the notion that it deserves a second glance.

It does not work in any gear. No movement at all. It acts like it is in nuetral. It gave no indication that it was going out. Disconnected the passing gear switch, nothing changed. There is no noises at all that would tell me what is wrong. Gen.Bart want to know if there is a check valve in the tranny? Thanks guys.

Dumb Question, but have you checked them since it started not driving???

I'm thinking no fluid. Did one of the trans cooler (to the radiator)hoses break or come off?

Is you're diff full of fluid??

Barring that, perhaps the fluid pump gave out somehow.
