ok, so i was backing up yesterday and hit a damn tree!!, After saying some choise words i am thinking "What am i gonna do now".

 

I had 2 ideas.

 

First i could try cutting the inner panel out gaining access to the outer panel from the inside and try to pund it out.

 

Or try to patch the panel using a cut-out from another car, They both sound like a pain in the but to me seeing as how i don't do body work.

 

Has anyone done either?, pro- cons of both?

 

It will never be a show car by any means but i would like to make it look nice some day, I have a soft spot for tis car, it's the only nice looking GL-10's i have seen around here.

It it big enough for a toilet plunger? Or you could use a windshield suction cup.

 

Unless it's more like a crease than a dent.

A body shop might be able to pull it for less than $100.

Where is The damage?

 

If you pull the interior panels, there are lots of access holes in the interior walls. Unless you MAJORLY crunched it, you should be able to massage it out from the inside, without cutting or welding.

 

Pics would really help.

I did it the third day with my Brat. Luckily I just broke the tail light and didn't hit the side of the bed.

The good is that you have access through the tail light the bad is you hit on a corner. what I would do and have done in the past is drill some holes on the very corner insert an eye bolt with a washer and nut, back up close to a tree or something immobile and use a come along to pull the dent out to as close to the original position as possible. from their it is a matter of massaging the metal with a hammer and something to back the blows . most chiltons or haynes have a small auto body repair section in the back which may give you a better idea of what I am talking about.

Great idea, down side being the holes (depending on welder) or pulling too hard. Look at Eastwood tools and see about getting a nail gun and going to town with it (was my best friend in Auto Body school minus the Bulls Eye Picks:headbang: ). The hardest part will DEFINITELY be the edge around the taillight housing itself and will require a hammer and dolly for best results. Good hint though when it comes to dent removal, Last in First out. Good luck

I assume by nail gun you are referring to a device that spot welds studs to the sheet metal. a slide hammer can be then used to attach to the studs and pull the dent out ? what would one of those be worth as i spotted one at a local pawn shop.

Eastwood has a complete kit for $500, if it's just the stud welder I'd pay no more than $125 used as a new one is $200 from Eastwood.
