im suprised you still could buy brand new water pumps for these. normally when i asked bout parts for my other 1400 i would get laughted at by the parts store.

ive orded new water pump and themostat.

picked up new water hoses and hose clips.

so now i just have to wait for pump 2 turn up then hopefully i can go get it back on thr road soon

painted the pully since it wasnt rust proofed

I took the the themostat housing off but run in to an few probs like the bolt heads broke on it. so im going to pull the manifold and remove the broken bolts etc. also tidy up the motor and repaint the the air filter cover etc

i dnt think they sold the GSR in the states???

they did sell the GL coupe there tho.

mine still is in peices. trying 2 find an carb rebuild kit at the moment

So rare you will never see one lol. As Kiwi Said above they were not imported to the US and neither were the EA81RX cars. So basically all other countries got the cool cars and US got the slower versions. You could always track down a 73ish coupe and build your own GSR.

US would be a '72 or '73 for the really cool old style. 1974 saw the squared bumpers with shocks and further ugliness.

 

And,good luck finding one of these too. Seems Israel and one of those Kiwi islands are about the only places to dig one out from.

Correct. They are the same ones installed in the States. We got two or so colors I think.

ive think ive seen them in atleast 3 colors. in black, red, blue

took an long time but i found an carb kit for it. just have to order it and find out price and get some manifold gaskets etc

Here is an Quick up date.

 

Been ordering new parts for my GSR. slowly getting them in.

 

heres some work ive done to my inlet mainifold

I had to redrill the broken bolts that go into the themostat housing.

also did some sanding of the manifold.

after spending 10 or so hours on polishing i ran out of patients and paid some one else to finish it :lol:

Haha yeas lol. would like to give the carbs a much better clean mayb bead blasted. I will wait till I can get rebuild kit. which ive had No luck with getting :-\

I also plan to get rocker covers and airfilter cover chromed.

only prob is No1 in my city does propper chrome plating ( Propper chroming with use of the copper plate 1st. ) here they only do nickal then chrome.

So its an 2 hour drive to the nearest which is in Timaru.

 

im dieing to get my GSR running and so close to Christmas :)
