So, what do I do? I really need the D/R. Do I gut the 86 and swap it all to the 88? Are the compatible, GL/DL??

Would putting the carb setup on the '88 be easy enough? I would rather have carb'd than FI. I cant see how anything with that should be difficult.

My 86 has only a couple wires and about 2 or 3 vacuum hoses on it.

You crazy? SPFI is far and away a better system.

You would have to do a lot of rewireing and changing of the fuel system to do it. Not worth it to backtrack like that.

Ok, thought it would be simple. This thing has been sitting for 7 years. Wasnt too sure I wanted to fuss around trying to get that running. I am not interested in all the codes that are going to pop up and all that goodness that goes with it. I do believe it has a bad fuel pump, but who knows beyond that. Not wanting to put money into another valueless rig....ya know?

I agree with spiffy. Spfi is sweet. carbs are inconsistant with elevation and weather and seasons. Plus you get a little more power. I used to like carbs too... until i owned a(n) FI car.

.....you are driving the wrong rig if you are concerned about power. ;)
