EA82 Engine at school

Featured Replies

i got a question. i just found a EA82 carbed engine and 2wd trans bolted together on a engine run stand in the back of our shed at school. im gonna talk to my teacher on monday to see if i can buy the engine and then go to a bone yard and find the fuel-injection for it, and if i can also the turbo settup to put in my wagon later on.

but a buddy of mine told me that he probally wont sell it, school reasons since we both think it was doanated, so what parts should i grab if i can. alt, coil, starter, water pump?

thanks for any info.

EA82 parts are eazy to get, I wouldn't worry about it unless U need somthing off it.;)

Yeah - there's just tons in the Junk Yards for cheap - EA82's are what you see the most in the JY these days....

Down here - water pumps are $10, Alts are $15, etc....

Yeah, those ea82's are all around, but there's gotta be a story if it's sitting there in the shop. Maybe it was the class project back in 87.

I would go for it if you can get the school to let it go. And why shouldn't they? That motor isn't going to teach anyone about what's happening in 2004.

I would talk to the instructor and see if he'll let you take it home . Tell him that the class needs to get up to speed on the newest Honda and Toyota 4's. You wouldn't be lying.

good luck, John
